The Indigico Creative Studio is a First Nations owned and operated online marketplace based out of Gamilaroi Country in Tamworth NSW. It is dedicated to showcasing Aboriginal culture, art and products by artists and creators from the Gamilaroi Nation and across regional NSW.
Our purpose is to help bridge the gap between regional-based and metropolitan-based artists, where access to retail opportunities are scare and hard to find in regional and remote areas. The Studio helps our artists and creators be found, connecting them with people all over Australia and the world.
We are passionate about supporting, championing and investing in regional Aboriginal artists and creators, which is why the mission of our Studio is to provide opportunities that drive self determination and financial prosperity for regional artists’ families and communities.
Meet our Founder + Director
Amy Allerton
Amy is the founder and Director of Indigico Creative Pty Ltd, the parent company of the Indigico Creative Studio which launched in April 2023 to realise Amy's vision of filling a gap in online retail opportunities for regional First Nations artists and creators.
Amy is a Gumbaynggirr and Bundjalung woman whose family’s traditional land is located in the Clarence Valley, NSW, in a rural area called Cangai. Amy’s identity is strongly grounded in Gomeroi culture, history, dreaming, art and language having been born and raised in Tamworth, NSW, where she still lives with her husband, Rick, and two children.
Amy is a graphic designer, photographer and contemporary Aboriginal artist, having first started her business journey as a graphic designer in 2014. After reconnecting with her artistic roots, Amy merged her skills in digital communication design with her art expression to deliver a modern approach to Aboriginal storytelling in the form of digital art. Amy is an accomplished corporate commission artist, utilising her unique ability to speak in colour and imagery to create visual representations of the journeys and values of organisations and communities.
Indigico Creative is a 100% First Nations controlled and operated, Supply Nation Certified, creative production and design company specialising in videography, photography, graphic design and First Nations corporate artwork commissions. Based in Tamworth, North West NSW, we exist to collaborate with businesses and partner with communities to creatively communicate the stories that bring us together.
